How do you organize the Crypts?

With L&D came the crypts, which I think is a great addition.

However, I need to rethink how to organize/administrate them. Originally I thought the wealthier/larger families would buy each their crypt, then kind of sorting the future graves per family. But then I realized none of the crypts will be filled anytime soon, because families are not that big and I play rather slowly on my rotation.

So I was thinking of rather naming the crypts geographically, say having one crypt per district (=world). I'm not so sure that Nancy Landgraab would appreciate sharing the crypt with a group of poor workers, though.

I could of course restrict crypts to families of the aristocracy, but it would be nice if cryps were an option for most sims.

So, I'm curious about how others deal with this. Any rules or routines in your game? Or do you just kick that urn into whatever crypt is available and move on?

  • I haven't used the crypts so far, I merely add my dead sims to a grave in the cemetery. I prefer the visual of seeing their actual gravestone or urn that my sims can go and grieve at or light candles and I like to have somewhere in every world which has a place for graves (sometimes it's a combined wedding and funeral place). I like to place dead sims in the same world where they lived, so would not want their remains to go to a different world. Possibly I would just keep the crypts for the richest of families.

Like above I prefer to have their gravestones out in the open so I can see them and interact with them easier. I use the crypts for all the pets.

Awww ... I like that idea of filling the crypts with pets alone. That is so sweet.
