Best thing I can recommend for you to do, is take your family into cas.fulleditmode and save them to your library. This will keep their skills intact. Then you can open up a brand new save and go from there. Since you mentioned you have and use MCCC, you should be able to hunt down the friends they have in the current save and reestablish their relationship. It's under Sim Commands>relationship. I found out the hard way, too, that even though I did the Save As for my game, each gaming session, and used only save after that, ultimately, the save and my favorite Sim got corrupted. He was my Rock Star to be and was for a short time before things went south on me. Had to start him all over from scratch! This happened at the time of the StrangerVille patch and I just now have him back to where he was. Best of luck to you. And I'm very sorry this happened. You're not alone.
I thank you for this. I had saved the family separately in the library due to size, but they there thankfully. I just hope I don't have to continue to start a new game lol. I always tend to use save as as an option instead of save, but I heard a while back it wasn't good to do that a lot, so I started trying to use just save more, but still have that habit of using save as more than I should I think so I don't know which way is best as it happened to you doing it the recommended way. So sorry it happened to you. Starting from scratch is hard. I have had a few corruptions in the past, so when I have a family I half way like I do make sure I put them in the gallery from my game before it gets too far and too late to do so.
That is why I am glad I saved her pregnant with the six alien babies.
