How do you play a save long term without corruption?

So far I have never had a game save corruption in Sims 4. But to be on the safe side I do periodically do a Save As, and usually, keep around 3 copies before deleting the older saves. I started doing this when I did have one sim who had gotten extremely wonky and ended up having to delete her. I think I might still have a copy of her in my library, but that one also has a vampire issue that just won't clear up.
