I'm relatively new to rotational play. For me, the first rotational save I had was my Westbrook legacy. As the second generation was aging up to young adults, I began rotating between them. I have play the premades as well.
I've found I prefer aging on for active household only. Depending on the amount of households I'm playing, I usually rotate every Sunday, for bigger rotations, every Sunday and Wednesday.
I keep Neighborhood Stories off for my played households.
I'm far from an expert on rotational play but this is what I've discovered I like. It prevents me from getting bored if I spend too much time in one household.
