How do your sims find someone that they really have a good romantic chemistry with?

I'm really interested in this thread because I have trouble finding a good flow for hooking up my Sims in Sims 4. They seem to be similarly attracted to everyone, lol.

In Sims 2, I played a lot with University where most of my Sims would meet and circulate. Using the chemistry system, it was much easier to see which Sims were attracted to each other. Sometimes I would try to nudge them in a direction, but if they didn't seem to go with it then I let them date who they wanted.
