How do your sims find someone that they really have a good romantic chemistry with?

I got a good relationship with a sim going, will be more observant and a let my sims do a little bit more on their own next time around. Really like the idea of giving suitors equal time and opportunity and just see what the green/pink bars says. Also try to let them seek out each other on their own. Guess I'm a bit of a micromanager when it comes to my sims but this is one area when I just have to step back a little bit :) less managing and more watching.
