How does the Auto Feeder work?

Yeah, that's what it means. If you have a dog, could your dog be picking the bowl up to go beg for food from a sim? I'm not sure if they can remove it from the auto-feeder, but I know you can personally click the bowl and drag it off. If not, it's probably a bug. Try deleting that auto-feeder and buying another?

With the bowls disappearing do you have a butler,maid or nanny? This is usually the cause and it's a bug their looking into fixing. Auto feeder should fill in 1hr if you choose it. Do you have any mods or cc?

Do you have a maid? If you leave the lot and come back the maids steal bowls not sure why..

I have a butler! I fired him and now the feeders seem to be working.

My veterinarian sim added an auto feeder to her clinic and the first patient (pet owner) stole the bowl right in front of my sim but of course she didnt have an option to ask for her property back. I guess the thief must have the kleptomaniac trait.

I didn't understand the auto-feeder at first. I've now found that it seems to refill based upon when it is completely empty. If I have it set to 1 hour, that means in my game that it will refill in an hour from when the animal finished the meal. That's how I have it set now in the households where I use it.

Right now, I'm playing a household with a gluttonous dog so I use the regular food bowl and give them set meals in the morning and evening. That's just that specific household. There is also a cat who is not a glutton. At first I was judging the game a bit because the gluttonous dog wasn't trying to eat the cat's food but now he has started doing so (which I would expect). I usually get around that by feeding them at the same time.

Well, yes of course. How else is the feeder going to fill the food bowl without well, the food bowl? If you buy the feeder from buy mode they already come with food bowls attached though.
