How intrusive are fame and celebrities?

I think it's very realistic and immersing to see celebrity NPC's in community lots and I think they did a great job portraying them. Unlike Late Night the celebrity system is not intrusive at all, fame doesn't spread like a virus.

I like the fame system too, but I think it's unrealistic to see celebrities hanging around Willow Creek, which is basically the suburbs. How often do you see a celebrity walking by your house?

It's unfortunate in the Sims 4 that you can't restrict certain types sims to specific worlds, like celebrities to Del Sol Valley or vampires to Forgotten Hollow. Same problem with seeing children and teens walking around town when they should be in school. Kinda breaks the immersion. :/

I have seen some celebrities from my country in my city actually. Given it doesn't happen too often.

I think San Myshuno is a cool place for celebrities, like New York. I'm considering making it into my famous sims second favorite place to live, after Del Sol (Small) Valley.

I have to wonder though, what city do you live in to see that many celebrities? :D

Had sims working on their career at home and only goes out sometimes. You may see a celebrity or two sauntering past in the neighrboorhood, but they aren't gonna waltz up into your property. Long as you opt out more celebs will not spawn.

May get the occassional chance card from a friend say they spotted someone famous and wanna drag you off to a meet and greet.

Playing so much, they really aren't that bad less you're in a club and they're too close to a do or bartender and decide to strike a pose distracting most sims. Other than that? Haven't had a problem with them.

Build/buy and CAS is really amazing.

If you like the pack enough for the other content I would just turn fame off if I were you.

I wouldn't say they are very intrusive but they can disrupt your flow. There is always a celeb sim who shows up on a venue lot even without the nee lots traits so I think that needs to be changed. I would like it if the celebs only appeared on lots with the new lot triats or lower their spawning on lots especially higher ranked celebs. They also needs to change how service sims handle celebs as they shouldn't stop doing their job and celebs who are doing a service should focus on doing their job.

Hm, is it possible to turn fame on and off, depending on what house I play? I play rotationally, and only a few of my sims would benefit from the fame system. Let's say I play 50 houses, and houses #10-20 would like the fame. Could I turn it off after moving on to my house #21, and when I turn it on again when leaving house #9, will the game then reset eveyone's fame progression, or remember it from my previous round? Hm, ya, complicated, I know, LOL...

If you turn it off for an entire save you can turn it back on on an individual basis. So say you turn it off for your entire save so no new famous sims pop up. You can go into the panel for each individual sim and say enter the spotlight which will turn on fame for that sim only! So yes it’s completely doable @Simmerville :).

My parents used to live in Santa Monica, CA. Dad ran into quite a few celebrities when he was a teenager. We're talking the likes of Red Skelton; Mary Tyler Moore and I don't recall who else, although once we all saw Dan Blocker from Bonanza. We also saw Jack Klugman while in Catalina. The thing to remember is these celebrities are people, too.

Ive seen my share in LA and when I worked at Cedar Sinai Hospital. But yep just people. Ive seen some in arizona too.

Anyway, I'm not sure if celebs are too intrusive in my game. I haven't turned off the celeb shine either. Not bothering me yet. :)
