So far I am having a blast with it. It has made me laugh so many times watching other sims pass out over celebrities. This pack has so much to do. That being said I don’t like the fact that you can get fame with any job you do like my sim is a politician and he can get fame by protesting anywhere in the neighborhood. I feel like it shouldn’t be that easy to gain fame.

Okay so, I'm gonna start off by saying that I get that this isn't the best. Del Sol Valley is small, there's a lot of problems with the male clothing (as usual), and I agree with that. But let me tell you one thing: I'm in the UK and used Tunnelbear to download this expansion earlier today, at around noon, sat down to play it and just now stopped because I realised it's eight and I need food!I haven't been this entertained by Sims 4, I think, since I bought it years ago. It felt like playing Sims 2. The acting career is so much fun! The perks! The different agencies! There is so much to do!I was really afraid that the star system would be like in Sims 3, where you took a breath near people and suddenly you were a three star celebrity, but boy, this is so hard! But like, in a good way! I've been literally playing all day and I'm barely near the second star! I've filmed three commercials, an episode for a tv show, and I'm nowhere near as famous and I assumed I would be, which to be fair is very realistic. The Self-Absorbed trait is amazing, going through your Simstagram feed literally raises your Fun, and I love that. I love all the new events on the calendar. I love that cute ass furry jacket.I could go on and on, but even with eight hours of gameplay I feel like I barely scratched the surface of this expansion. I really wish I had more criticism to offer you all, like you do, but I just had a lot of fun with this. I went in with low expectations and boy, were they surpassed.10/10, this is definitely better than My First Pet Stuff.

It is actually pretty cool. I used a VPN so I could play for a bit last night, but only managed to squeeze in two hours as I got way too much stuff to do today at work so I needed me sleep. Anyhoo, personal life stories aside, what I did see was actually pretty cool and in-depth. The world is too small, definitely, no argument there. It drives me a little insane that they didn't take the opportunity to give us more apartment for example. I mean aren't there any apartments in LA? Lol. But world complaints aside, the gameplay is pretty solid. From what I've seen. After two hours I still only managed to do one audition, haven't even seen the set yet and I'm super excited to visit it tonight! So yes, I think there's plenty to do, the fame system is set up well and actually takes effort. Which is great.Only things I don't like are, again, world size and that bouncers apparently do not autogenerate on your lots when placing a special door. Not sure why? Oh also, don't give the new lot traits to restaurants. Sims won't sit down to eat anymore, they'll just be taking pics of celebrities. Which I don't like either, at all.Still, the rest was very fun and I'm looking forward to discovering more of the content tonight as I feel I haven't seen much yet at all. Don't even have a single perk lol.

I have only been editing the new world so far. But I am loving all the new items! And I actually like the EA-made mansions, which is very rare for me lol. Usually I can't stand the Lots that come with the game and I am not a fan of huge homes anyway, but I like the way they have done these ones. And gorgeous views from them! I can't wait til I get a rich and famous sim to live there.

The expansion pack is really great, and I love the detail. I am definately hyped about more expansions like this, such as hotel managing or nectar making/farming. I do notice however that since the expansion my sim is constantly getting ill, sometimes up to 2 or 3 times a day! I need to constantly buy medicine for my sim, but at this point it is crazy and nearly not fun anymore! Did anyone experience this? Any possible fix? :( I don't want to start over this household >.<.

I think that this pack adds a lot of gameplay. Really fun pack!

Oops. I added the hottest spot in town (or whatever it's called,) to Chez Lama. I'll see how it goes after a visit there. I actually wouldn't mind sims taking pics or being excited, as that's the reason I added the trait in the first place. I just hope that, eventually, the celebs leave or people calm down enough to eat.

Please let me know if you experience the same thing or not. Actually quite curious, as I really would like my Fountainview Diner to have an exclusive VIP area, but not if celebs just keep hanging out at the venue and everyone keeps getting up to photograph or stare at them. :sweat_smile:

I admire your patience. I wouldn't be able to laugh it off so easily if I bought the pack and these things were happening to my Sims straight out of the gate.

Coming to the board and reading the "horror" stories is the best part of a new pack release! :D >:)

Has anyone gotten to rank 3 of fame, without cheats? My bar has been just underneath rank 3 for a while now, and she’s been doing gigs and it doesn’t increase! She has 3 perks and 1 quirk, i want her to be rank 3 already

I just roll with the punches. :) Finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the entire game because of how dark it was in Del Sol Valley compared to some of the pictures I've seen. Sounds drastic but I get the urge to start fresh ever so often and now I'm excited about starting with a new sim. Plus she'll have shoes.

Nah, that doesn't sound drastic to me. I mostly play with tester saves in TS4 because I end up thinking "Oh, if only I would have had this feature for this household and so on. I've learned to do a trial run with features to learn the dos and don'ts. And also learning from others' experiences.

Sims really need shoes...

I'm curious about what everyone thinks about the reputation system. I honestly think I wouldn't use the fame system or acting career very often if i were to buy GF (I always randomize my sims so they get what they get haha), but the reputation system apparently is always on. Does it seem to be impactful to game play?

My first impression is not too good cuz the world is very boring in terms of the lots they they gave us. I might have to revamp them but I didn't have time. ? I spent more time trying to fix a bug in my game rather than playing the EP. LOL.

But so far, I haven't dived into to the whole actor career yet, so hopefully that would be more fun.

It's just okay so far - mainly because of bugs. My Sim has done tons of interactions but I just noticed he doesn't have a single fame point. Am I doing something wrong? Anybody else having this issue?

Yea mine isn't increasing much either (if at all). I'm wondering if it's bork'd. I was stuck at level 1 with nothing increasing it... I'm repairing my game right now to see if helps.

Do you use Madlen shoes? I've got a ton of hers in my game and have no issues with them since the patch.
