The Sims has always been a game in which you have to choose what path to take which gives your Sim the right choices in life with owning less often being the best way. More possessions keep diverting you from the main purpose of being happy and learning. This is why it's best not to provide radios, computers or TV early on, I've found. They divert Sims from their main purpose. Will Wright thought of this game when his house burned down and he lost all his possessions, remember. That should be the point of the game but it's been lost.

I'm now in a wait and see mode as I'm waiting to see if I get requests to decorate any empty house I download for my Sims to live in. I'm wondering if the expense allowed would differ if they had only the basic limit of Simoleons or a huge amount due to the fact I've used motherlode to give the inhabitants thousands more. It would also be interesting to do that with the list of likes and dislikes I can use.
I like building but no good at decorating so a few of those might be a help.
