Paranormal is a new Career with a Medium Skill, New types of Ghosts, Bonehilda, new Residential Lot Type & new Gameplay with the Spirits. This all defined a Game Pack.
There isn't enough CAS/Build/Buy content for it to qualify as a GP.
It's definitely a game pack. You are thinking of a Stuff pack or maybe an Expansion. A Game pack is about Game play.
I think Emma was referring to Paranormal not having enough content to be a game pack, hence it being a stuff pack.
This. If one pack is an exception according to the pack types, the Paranormal pack is an exception. Dream Home Designer fits the description for a game pack just fine.
@EmmaVane That doesn't say a lot because even if it does fit the description for a game pack, the actual content itself doesn't evolve much gameplay in the sense of live mode but it involves just building which means you will be spending most of your time decorating in build mode like you always did. It doesn't really create new scenarios for you to play the game in a different way than already existed. It's just a glorified build mode with a few extras here and there.
I think this what everyone is trying to say.
@SimmerGeorge it does create new scenarios. We'll have restritions and directions to build. It's completelly different from building freely like we have always done...
@texxx78 Oh you mean like the one-color challenge? Or the shell challenge? of the black and white challenge? Yes very different that what we have already been doing.
Also are restriction and directions really that impactful to create a brand new experience? Like with Vampire for example, you are given tools to do something it was impossible to do in the game without mods. I just don't see how rebuilding a room or house (even with directions or not) is something we haven't already been doing for 7 years now.
@SimmerGeorge all those challenges you mention are super cool but are not part of the game itself. It's like saying that the 100 baby challenge or the asylum challenge are supported by the game... they aren't. Those are community challenges. And none of those build challenges will have an impact on your sims, with them asking for things they like (which will problably be chosen by the player) or having an in-game outcome, like getting promoted, famous, having the neighbours frustrated or happy with the renovation.
I will of course give you my
personal opinion on your questions... yes, i think it's different. I love to have an in-game challenge like this. Without it i mostly don't touch build mode, although i like it...
It's not that i have to imagine if it'll be different. I know it will. I loved the architect career in sims 3 :)
