4? But I play with aging off and huge households of 2-3 families usually that are quite micromanaged... so it rather works like a natural birth control. I have no need to 'replace' aging or dead sims, and having toddlers in a large career household is a lot of work. But it's also cool. I had my first couple have 5 kids (who are all married and dispersed amongst the other game households, but with the other couples it tends to be 1-2 each couple. Plus a couple of little dogs I keep moving around with me to a bunch of the households when I'm running them. They are rather like having a toddler that you cannot really control/read entirely. ;)
I'm thinking I may try a separate game and turn aging on and treat things more 'normally'? There would be a lot less wealth, and probably a lot more generations that way!
