How Many of You Have Had a Sim In the Entertainment Field? (Post Get Famous)

Does it increase the chances of getting that all too-coveted Accolade? If so, has your Sim been a singer at the same time? I'm seriously contemplating another play strategy. I've had my Rock Star (courtesy of RTF) write lyrics, cut albums, make tracks for distribution. He's a full Global Superstar (& Superstar via RTF). Still, no nomination. I am getting frazzled. I was wondering if he could possibly enter the Entertainment Career, whilst he still plays concerts and if that would boost his odds of that nomination and possible win?

What are your thoughts? Please, and thank you, in advance.

  • Like many things in the game, there's no rhyme or reason to it. I had a sim once who won it on his first acting gig, EVER; level 2 acting. I think you just get points when you do the gig, and if you get lucky and get high enough points, you win.

Hm. Well, that's not terribly encouraging. Deaths are random, too. Took me ages in Sims3 before I had one of my Sims (in the active household) have a rather untimely death. As for having the Sim I wanted abducted, the closest I ever got in Sims3 was his Bot being constantly abducted. I kid you not. The aliens must have been stealing the technology, or something … :open_mouth:

Honestly just show up to the awards ceremony your sim will probably get an award after you go a few times.

My sim goes without being nominated and ends up winning 2 out of the 3 times

I will continue to have him go to the Accolades, if nothing more than to be a 'seat filler'. You do realize that have people who fill a seat while the recipient goes to collect their Oscar, right? Just to make the audience appear full whenever the camera pans it. Hollyweird Magic, always. LOL
  • Hmmm, I don't know 100% how you'd actually get a sim to receive an accolade, but I'm willing to bet you need to write a song. I think at Level 10 of an instrument skill you can write a song. The only sims I've ever had recieve accolades are writers and always after they finish a book and publish it. So if you write a song and then publish/produce/sell rights or something you might get an accolade.
  • In my game, Johnny Zest is in the comedy career and constantly streams and makes videos but he has won accolades for songs he has composed on the guitar and for 2 novels he wrote. His actress wife wins accolades much more often - she is a five star actress and has maxed out painting skill. My sim in the entertainment career was maxed out before I bought get famous and hasn't been to the accolade awards. I agree - the less celebs you don't own the more awards your sims get. Attend regardless of nominations. One time with no nomination ,my sim won 3 awards.

At level 9 you can publish a song. And yes, he has done so. He's also made tracks that get played at various venues. I get no fewer than 14 Sims on the lot to see him in concert, too. It's frustrating.
  • Most of the nominations my Sims have gotten are from using the heck out of the video making station. I got a nomination for my entertainer either writing a jingle or publishing a song, but of course she didn't win anything. Next time I'm saving when I arrive. I am not above quitting and reopening to make the ceremony worth my time.
  • Hm, saving the game upon arrival. Sounds plausible, let us know if that works. Reminds me of saving once your Sim goes into labor in Sims2, so that if the gender of the child born isn't what you wanted, you could exit without saving and pick back up in labor. Saved lots of time. Good luck with your new approach!
