How many played sims do you have in your game?

How many played sims do you have in your game? I usually play in only one save game with different families, which makes my sims count very high. Which are the highest number you ever reached and which problems come with it?

As much I love to have many own sims in my world, as much I don't want to have so many NPC's. I delete them every few sim-days, but they spawn like weed. I finally want to get rid of them, do you have an idea

  • 18 households, 35 Sims. I used to play households alphabetically, but that started to feel a bit like a chore. So I changed the rotational system: each household gets a week with at least one holiday and/or festival that suits their interests and personalities. Since I play seasons with four weeks each, that should work nicely. Of course, having 18 households means that not every household gets their own week; meaning, some of them have to share a week.

  • My played sims keep on increasing and I also kept on doing alternate saves, so far these are my active saves.

Occult save file: Eleven houses, 35 sims (will be increasing as I kept on creating new sim families for additional characters but probably as unplayed houses). I set maximum 150 sims, but sometimes I need to be careful with this save as I created a lot of sims, I only deleted the randomly generated sims everytime I start to play the save.

Jansen-Carroll (My mermaid human couple from the occult save, their story seven years later): Two sims, but others also made some appearance as background characters

    Ravenwood: Five houses, 19 sims. Dragoste (7 sims), Specter (4 sims), Aether (3 sims), Gomes (3) & Gomes-Izadi (2)

Del Sol Valley: Six houses, 15 sims. Ward (4 sims, I made maxis gallery sim Alexandrea Cole as Judith's daughter and Christian Harp Alexa's husband, they also have a son), Bailey-Moon (3 sims), Venessa Jeong, Broke (4 sims), Dreamer (2 sims), Mr Cole (Judith's first husband that I created from Alexandrea).

Strangerville 1: Three houses, 8 sims, Main Roswell couple (2), the first son with family (4 sims but new baby will be born soon), the second son will soon to be married (2 sims)

Strangerville 2: Sigworth family (3 sims)

Strangerville 3: 4 sims (Eclectic Arts Household & George Cahill)

Windenburg 1 (Bjergsen): Mainly 5 sims (canon Bjergsen + born in game son who's already a child), another 5 sims as I also control the Roswell sometimes (canon Roswell + two teen version sons from Strangerville 1 and a baby that born via NS)

Windenburg 2 (Villareal): 6 sims (Main Villareal family, Jacques living with his two underlings)

Oasis Springs: 25 sims. Landgraab (5 sims; canon Landgraab, 2 adopted children), Roomies (5 sims, canon Roomies + OC, they already live separately), Johnny Zest, Caliente (Dina, Nina & Don), Caliente-Gooseman (Katrina & Don Gooseman), Goth (3 sims), Bella with 2 orphans in Strangerville, my alien family from occult save file (3 sims)

Daisy & Dino (Romantic Garden couple from gallery): 10 sims, main couple Daisy Jardin & Dino Fiore live in their main house, then their two children live with six townie friends (namely Takama Aether, Olive Tinker, Wren Grove, Elsa Bjergsen and two children of Babs L'amour & Ollie Purdue)  in one house for university

  • I had a lot more played sims in my TS3 saves, but in TS4 I'm very conservative. I had a save corruption happen after playing several years in Sims 3. I did manage to get all my sims "rescued," saved, and placed in separate saves, but the corruption put a scare in me. Plus, my computer, which was a higher range setup, was beginning to struggle with the TS3 game.

So now, in Sims 4, I only play one household per save, no rotational gameplay. I use very few rental units too--less than six at most and in just a few saves. I do use mods and CC but am very careful with them. I own most of the packs and kits. At this point, the only things I don't own are the SpongeBob kits.

I set the max played sims at 80, but don't have any saves that even reach 15 sims, most are less than 8. I use custom lifespans that are longer than the default Long. I don't really do legacies, at least not for generation after generation; I will create new saves if families get too large.
