Unless you are playing a family using the club programming - having a big family is more aggravating than enjoyable. The thing is I don't care much for families done as clubs so now a days even though I was always a big family player - I get no enjoyment out of it in Sims 4 - My households in my present save are lucky to get 2 or 3 Sims - to keep the game enjoyable and not a chore... If the household is made up with parents and 3 kids of various ages - then it is okay thanks in part to parenthood pack - but the minute those kid age to ya they have to move out - it becomes a chore trying to allow 5 adults be their own person in this game - believe me. So 5 is my absolute limit in Sims 4.
Keep in mind I prefer 7-8 sims. So when I get to missing big families - I have to just go back to play Sims 3, as technically that is the only Sims game that did big households right.
