How many sims can you handle at once in a household?

I have noticed recently when playin I can maybe only handle 3 or 4 at a time. I have tried to play a full household and found it too chaotic trying to keep up with everyone's needs. I love big familie...

No more than seven, because I usually have my sims have a lot of children. I can barely handle 5 kids (and I mean barely). If it's over 6 household members total, then you can assume I will be using cheats.
