Six is kind of my maximum because if there any more than that, I will not play all of them actively & literally only attend to some household members' needs and that's it. But six is also pushing it. Still, the question was how many can you (I assume comfortably) handle. But my absolutely preferred number is probably 5 + 2 pets, so 2 adults, 3 kids (of whatever age, but preferably only one toddler at the time - again, I can handle (maximum) 2 but I prefer not to as it can get a bit tedious), 1 dog and one cat. I really have to force myself sometimes to play 3-sim households or even just 2-sim households, or I'll always end up with 5 :D
