I've never actually counted them. Initially, I do a Save As, at the top of each gaming session. Then during gameplay, I save when something significant happens, such as a skill is gained, a milestone is achieved. My Rock Star wins an Award or licenses another song. Anything I don't wish to have go by the wayside, should something untoward happens, as in a crash. If I can keep my forward progress, that's all important.
I actually can't recall, but I do know it has happened. My biggest lesson was when I was writing my novel. I'd suffered from a very long bout of Writer's Block and was finally tapping away at my first computer. Two hours' worth of creative flow. The phone rang, and I got up to answer it. Didn't talk too long, but just as I was crossing the room to get back to my writing, the lights went dim. Not out, just dimmed for a nano second. To my horror my computer screen had gone blank. All was lost. I went to take a shower, singing McCartney's, Picasso's Last Words (Drink to Me).
When hubby got back from work, I told him what happened. That's when he explained I should save periodically. Yeah, thanks for that timely instruction, love of my life. LOL We are still married. Just made year 50.
A BIG congrats on your 50th! That is awesome.😁

Thank you. As you can probably tell, I'm still very much jazzed about it. We were teens when we wed.
