I currently have 7 saves active in my game file. I have about 10 saved on a flash drive.
My "main" save is where my legacy families are. Every single lot is custom in this save. All the base houses and stuff supplied by Maxis are gone.
My Alternate Universe save is where most of my sims are occult sims and I have all alternate versions of Maxis-made sims (like the Goths, the Calientes, etc.) All of the lots and sims are custom in that save.
My No Cheat save is where I play the sims in the vanilla style without any cheats or mods at all. Mods and CC are turned off so I won't be tempted, no MOO, no Motherlode, nothing.
My Sandbox Save is where I test out build ideas and downloaded content. Only one sim exists in this world. He gets to test out my builds; however, that will be changing soon because only using one sim to test a build may not be enough sometimes. :/ Time to give him a mate.
My Sim Farm is a sandbox save for sims instead of real estate. I don't like to affect the timeline in my first three saves by testing out sims, so I use the Sim Farm then if I plan to add them to a save, I upload them to my library.
My backup slot utilized by MCCC. Needless to say, in my No Cheat save, I save A LOT more often.
My random save (or the save that time forgot). I don't do much there. I log in from time to time to look at the base layout of the game. I know that sounds weird but sometimes I need to look at something as it was originally designed, a sim, a house, etc. Nothing gets added are removed from this save. Time stands still.
