- BusufuSeasoned Hotshotlol my Caleb learnd cooking (full skill) just by watching the cooking channel. He never ever stood by the stove :D
- Most the time my sims don't bother messing with the TV, but I love the TV right now with seasons on days where its too hot or thunderstorms happen. Having the movie stuff pack makes this nicer; my sims can watch movies and have a little snuggle/family time while things pass.
It comes in handy as well for sims learning the cooking skill. Instead of risking the house being set on fire, I'll have sims watch the cooking channel til they get to at least level 3. They seem to focus better on the TV then reading a skill book.
I also have fitness stuff so the workout channels come in handy for sims who may not have time to go to the gym or space to buy equipment.
TVs come in handy in my game sometimes. - Funny, I just moved my sims tv to inventory a couple of days ago. I won't bring the it back out until movie night because I prefer other methods of gaining skills.
- Goth583New TravelerThey watch it every once in a while during the week. Most of the time I have my sims actually interact with each other and do things.
- ck213Seasoned ScoutI tend to forget about the TV, pretty much like how I forget about my own.
I am usually on the computer. :) - I forgot how much autonomy affects a player's choices. I wonder how many full autonomy players have televisions.
- mikamakimonNew SpectatorOn full autonomy, the biggest draw for my sims right now is the microscope, which I recently placed on the lot for my botanist. They seem to be pretty even on splitting their time between tv, computer, getting a drink, talking to plants, and giving each other hugs or kisses. Plus the cats always insist on getting attention, so that gets worked in between everything else :)
- Reddestiny921Seasoned VeteranI had to think about it but I always give my sims a television and sometimes I see wants for watching channels but they usually ignore it all together in one family I had the kids in a club and they would watch it after they did their homework it was a time it got used the most.
- Occasionally.
My Sims are more addicted to Computergames and playing card games at the game table - oxfordspliceNew SpectatorUnless I have a sim who needs the TV or computer for work, I prefer not to include it in households. I've found that you can sort of "train" sims to do other things that are more productive for my purposes (paint, garden, read).
