- Funny, I just moved my sims tv to inventory a couple of days ago. I won't bring the it back out until movie night because I prefer other methods of gaining skills.
- Goth5837 years agoSeasoned AceThey watch it every once in a while during the week. Most of the time I have my sims actually interact with each other and do things.
- I started out having tvs in a lot of homes, but since I play on high autonomy, I've eventually taken them all away. I've put movie theaters in a lot of my saves, that way the family can go watch movies together and not constantly watching tv at home.
- ck2137 years agoLegendI tend to forget about the TV, pretty much like how I forget about my own.
I am usually on the computer. :) - I forgot how much autonomy affects a player's choices. I wonder how many full autonomy players have televisions.
- mikamakimon7 years agoSeasoned AceOn full autonomy, the biggest draw for my sims right now is the microscope, which I recently placed on the lot for my botanist. They seem to be pretty even on splitting their time between tv, computer, getting a drink, talking to plants, and giving each other hugs or kisses. Plus the cats always insist on getting attention, so that gets worked in between everything else :)
- Reddestiny9217 years agoLegendI had to think about it but I always give my sims a television and sometimes I see wants for watching channels but they usually ignore it all together in one family I had the kids in a club and they would watch it after they did their homework it was a time it got used the most.
- Occasionally.
My Sims are more addicted to Computergames and playing card games at the game table - oxfordsplice7 years agoNew VeteranUnless I have a sim who needs the TV or computer for work, I prefer not to include it in households. I've found that you can sort of "train" sims to do other things that are more productive for my purposes (paint, garden, read).

One is though you need the computer for research a lot of different job related things. You need it to get info, buy meds, and other purchases. Sometimes my sims job has required the watch certain tv shows or use the computer to fine specific info. So both are actually needed.
I am glad I don't have issues with my sims using them on their own - because of how many times my sim could not get a promotion with out them. It may be okay when you use money cheats to buy and sell them at will- but I don't use cheats. In fact I just finally got my sim a pc for studying fitness tips online for her job which I put off all week getting the money up - and even though she was as far as one could be in the green on her promotion bar she did not get the promo until she studied those tips on the pc.
