February Patch Speculation Thread 2025 (Now Out)

My guesses 

• handiness overhaul : restauration workshop and the workbench in the artist kit last year could point in that direction. Besides we already had updates for gardening, cooking, fishing (fish together) and painting (digital sketch pad). But nothing for the workbench in 10 years . I hope we can get more variety in objects we can make. 
• Burglars : various hints for example the milk cartons in the latest event, a masked figure on the current road. 
• CAS update regarding to tattoos. With tattoos shown in the trailer teaser, I can't see this not happening. Someone suggested a paint feature similar to cats and dogs and werewolves. That would be cool. Tattoos also need a pack filter in my opinion. 

It always bothered me that I was never able to have my Sims create a guitar or a violin like it showed in the previews of the Sims 4. I see them in buy mode, I see townies in San Myshuno pull one of the poorly crafted ones out to use when busking for tips. I don't want to buy the item. i want my Sim to make it. Maybe with the patch, that'll finally be possible? 🤪

I think it is already possible with a high handy skill. You can craft them on the ... I don't know how it's called in English, but I know for sure you can craft instruments like violins and guitars on it. That thing that help you increase your handiness skill. The items don't appear in your inventory, though but in the household inventory (the one in buy / build mode). You can place them somewhere and then your Sim can take the crafted instrument in their normal inventory. 

Weird. In all my GPs I have at least one Sim max the handiness skill. I have never been given the option of craft a musical instrument. From a knife block, to small sculptures, to barstools, to chairs and tables, to bathtubs and finally a freaking toilet... (add in the things from Outdoor Retreat) That is it.

Hopefully a color wheel added to base game, gallery update so we can upload tattoo designs, woodworking overhaul to be able to make more furniture. 

In addition to having high handiness skill, your sim also has to have a certain skill level (I think level 8) in each instrument (violin or guitar) to be able to craft them on the woodworking table.

Ah... that explains much. Of course I had my handy Sims learn piano or no instrument at all... 😩 My artistic Sim did the violin.

I'd love to be able to do more with woodworking, but I am wary of a color wheel being added to Base Game. I do think that due to the high demand, it should be something that could be an optional add-on. Sort of like how there was that Deluxe Edition to the game, you'd be able to download features your computer can handle (ie, the color wheel and pattern chooser). It would likely have to cost some extra money for such an upgrade, but it would likely be highly worth it to those who really want it.

Does it mean we will get stroller (toddler), baby pram (newborn) and pacifier ? Pacifier was teased in 2024.

I do wonder if the tattoo interface with layering will be base game - I don't know how much work it was or if they'd want to keep it gated behind a pack, but they usually don't maintain 2 UIs for the same thing do they? Same way everyone's social menu was rearranged into conversation categories, whether you have Growing Together's conversation preferences or not.

atreya33I agree, there have been a lot of burglar/racoon references recently.

Updates to the woodworking table would be interesting too. Or maybe finally a "play together" option when there's multiple instruments? I can't think what else might go with the hobbies pack theme, but then again HSY gave us curved walls and HR painted ceilings, so it might be tangential.
