How needed are mods for TS4 compared to other sims 4 games?/Your Favorite Mods (2019)

I use two mods for Sims 4. UI Cheats which I use to cheat motives when my sims are too busy to eat and sleep, and True Happiness.

In Sims 3 I use Twallan's Error Trap, Master Controller, Register, and Relativity.

In Sims 2 I have around 200 no autonomous mods for behavior that is cute or funny the first few times but becomes increasingly annoying. Like toddlers in the toilet, throwing shopping bags, dancing on toes, kicky bag, bird-watching, school cheer, etc.
