Like most, I change their outfits when they age up. They get 2 everyday outfits (one for warm weather and one for cool) and one outfit in every other category. I also change sims' clothes when they have a special event to attend or a party to throw (if they're getting married, or if they're having a birthday party at the pool, going to GeekCon and I want them to "cosplay").
