I find that I give my Sims everyday wear for the season I'm starting my game with. I'm just now 'getting with the program' and giving them five hot weather outfits, too. I found myself having to go into cas.fulleditmode too often to adjust their wardrobes. Generally, after I've initially created my Sims, I will change out their wardrobe once they age into the next age bracket. I try to dress my teens in a more youthful look, so that when they become YAs their clothing reflects it.
I also use MCCC and I will switch out what they're wearing if they've been wearing it all too often, or I deem it inappropriate for where they're heading out to. "I know it's hot out there, Erik, and you have decided to be nocturnal, cutting albums in the wee hours of the night, but wearing a wet bathing suit to the studios just isn't going to cut it. Put a shirt and shoes on, please." LOL
