It just depends. I've lost both of my parents in 2016... I don't think I played regularly at times then. I also took some time off a few times that probably was at least a month. I missed the toddler patch. I didn't buy Cats and Dogs on release... but got it half off. I had surgery sometime in 2018 and yeah... I doubt I played it then because I couldn't sit in the same position for long periods.. and really the list goes on.
I enjoy the game when I play it ... it can be very often and even obsessively or I might be doing something else for awhile. I've even enjoyed a few other games since the Sims 4 was released!
Wow, you've had a rough few years.- OneAdorkableGirlNew SpectatorRight now it's about 3-4 times a week because I have some other projects I'm doing that's taking up my game-time.
- mcruddSeasoned VanguardUsed to play everyday, but a bit busy with my brother's case right now so can't play as often anymore, hopefully that will change soon again :)
- cassieb95Rising NewcomerI play daily but this is because I have plenty of free time. :D
- As some have also expressed, it largely depends for me. Though I've been played TS4 for nearly 5 years now, my routine has always remained quite similar: I get grabbed by the game and play it for pretty much as much spare time as I have for weeks followed (in past times, when such was possible, I'd literally spend the entire day playing in between meals) - perhaps it was an house project that I wanted to finish, getting caught up in the routine and misadventures of my current household or just being compelled to play for the pure fun of it - up until a point I'd suddenly become bored of it and do a break for several months.
I guess my last big TS4 spree was about an year ago, during the period of the college's summer vacation. After so long without playing it, I got the idea of a basic plan for a lot I spent over a month designing and perfecting as well as a whole new household for two of my main Sims. After the return of the usual daily routine I didn't felt very compelled to boot the game back up besides after major updates just to check the new content and mess with it for a while; lately I've felt like going back to the calming and somewhat therapeutic experience that is my usual TS4 gameplay and have been booting it every couple of days or so. I guess I'm your typical binge watcher, perhaps? ahah - i play all the time everyday
- I recently returned to the game after several months away due to health issues; before that I was playing just about every day, now I'm down to 3-4 times a week because I'm busy with life stuff. :|
- Kimmer_oneRising TravelerI used to play more often, but the current bugs in the game make me not want to play. :/
- It depends. Some days, weeks, and months I have more free time than others. I also have other games to play that I could prefer, but I clearly have played plenty after 6 years of the Sims 4.
If I had to name any kind of trend, other than a sporadic urge to play if the inspiration strikes, is based around the new packs. When I see new content that looks cool and I want to play, I cannot really stand to play without it. So, if I am getting a new pack the time between its announcement and my purchase I do not play. However, I give it a fair bit of attention after the purchase. - It depends. I play at work and it can range from 3-4 days a week for a few months to not at all for a few months and then back. I play when I get the chance to sit down for a game for awhile, but that's not always easy.
