How often do you play with PlantSims?

I've only played a ts4 plantsim once. But I do have a family of green sims who love to garden and I view them as plantsim descendants. I may make them actual plantsims once they have a forbidden fruit tree in their garden. But it is annoying that it's not a permanent life state.
And it's also super annoying that kids and toddlers can't have green hair.
