How often do you play with PlantSims?

I have a plantsim in one of main saves that I've played for awhile now. I modded him to remain a plantsim and have customizable hair. I'm actually surprised the amount of detail they added to such a temporary lifestate.
They require sunlight to fill their hunger bars, and with seasons, they won't get it on cloudy days. On days like these they can still fill their hunger by absorbing the solar energy from havestable plants. This will set back the growth of the plant, but not the quality.
They also require water like mermaids instead of having a bladder function. Anything that will hydrate a mermaid will also hydrate a plantsim. I believe they also acquire the gardening skill faster, but I'm not 100% sure about this.
I'd love to see an update to this overlooked lifestate. At least to make them permanent and give them their own clothing and hairstyles. But maybe also give them some more unique gardening abilities like instantly maturing a plant at the price of their hunger bars going down or something like that.
