Here's How Each Age Group Seems
Baby: <6 months old
Toddler: 2-5
Child: 8-13
Teen: 15-21 with the Parenthood Pack or 18-24 without the Parenthood Pack
Young Adult: 25-50*
Adult: 35-70*
Elder: 60+*
*I did that on purpose because different people get wrinkles at different times.
Here's How Old They Are In My Settings
Baby: <1
Toddler: 1-4 or 1-5
- With size mods, I can make toddlers look as young as 6-9 months or as old as 5 or 6.
Child: 5-14 or 6-14
- With size mods, the preteen preset mod, and different types of clothing, I can make kids look as young as 5 or 6 and as old as 13 or 14.
- Kids can play with toys and on playgrounds like younger children, but also like talk about pop culture like tweens and young teens, so I could essentially represent any age I want.
- If you want to make children in the tween half of the phase experience mood swings, you could use a tween trait mod or the erratic trait that comes with the base game.
Teen: 15-24
- Teens can literally do anything a young adult can do except for have real woohoos, get married, conceive children, and get full time jobs. Yes, I can even make teens drink bar drinks without mods installed. With that being said, I can very easily imagine them being "legal adult".
- If the brain doesn't mature until 25, then why put 20-24 year olds in a phase that doesn't let you continue working towards earning character values?
- Plenty of people don't stop "feeling like teenagers" the moment they turn 20.
- Teen sims don't look that different from young adult sims, so there is very little I have to do to make them look "age appropriate". I use mods to make teens at the 15-16 end shorter, but other than that, I don't have to do much to make them look "age appropriate"
- I use MC Command Center in order to avoid letting my teens date anyone who is "too far apart" in age.
Young Adults: 25-44
- In the young adult phase, sims seem to have fully mature brains, steady jobs, and a desire to settle down.
- I cut this phase off at 44 even though you're not a young adult anymore in your 40's because I've heard from many older simmers that most people don't have that many wrinkles in their early-mid 40's.
Adults: 45-64
- Adult sims seem middle-aged to me and it only takes adding grey hair and maybe a few wrinkles in the facial features section of CAS for them to look like they're in their 60's
- My dad is in his early 60's and even though he doesn't look young, I don't consider him an elder.
Elder: 65+
