Won't say I'm old, but I remember Harry Truman (admittedly a wee nipper at the time), 3 cents for a postage stamp, and 5 or more gallons of gas for a dollar. Milk was delivered to your door in glass bottles, the necks of which were large so the cream would have a place to go to.
