How to define whether a sim is Rich?

I'm busy adding turn-ons and -offs to my sims. I like that my nobility can have rich sims as a turn-on, or at least poor sims as a turn-off. I pretend that this level of society will sometimes be loyal to their class rather than to their individual desires. An it makes sense that a duke will avoid romantic relations with women hardly making ends meet in a starter home.

But - I must admit I am not sure how the game calculates rich/poor.

Is it based on the household's cash alone? Or also the house? If so, how about a sim renting a home but buying/owning furniture? Owning a business?

It takes only ยง10,000 to avoid being poor, and ยง100,000 to be considered rich.

Game will almost never calculate networth correctly because I have so many assets in on-the-side notes. But it would still be good to know how the game thinks.

  • I have no idea what the game thinks but there is an aspiration for wealth that might clue you in. I consider six figures to be wealthy in the game, myself.  Erik often achieves way more, to the point he earns Simoleons for the job completed, but they don't register because the game has a cap. We're talking 999,999,999.

I keep wondering the same, especially when one of my Sims meets another one that I just created and learns that the new Sim is rather well-to-do even if they are only in the low five figures. Personally, I, too, consider six figures to be well off and wealthy. My main household currently has over one million Simoleons and counting. Took very long to achieve that without using cheats, too.

Also, I think that when a Sim assesses another Sim's wealth, the house's worth is also being taken into account, like in the aspirations that focus on wealth.

  • Checking the wiki and broke is under 10,000 simoleans and wealthy is over 500,000!

I take into context the property and what is on that property...

Some of my sims are paying over $5,000 for bills and rent- upper $600's at the lowest. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ™‚

  • If your sims makes over 30 bucks an hour...they are doing good.

My millionaires own businesses and it's usually a combined income of 6-8 sims in one household.

6 digits is considered overly wealth in this game for me anything over 300,000 is rich. Anything under 100,000 is workin' for them columns. Too much money is a waist in the game with test cheats enabled.

I found that playing a realistic storyline is the best and making your sims work for their money is rewarding in the game.

I only cheat with money if I want to buy a lot for retail. I still end up owing more than I borrowed....from other households...๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ™‚
