I play my houses for 1-week increments too, and i’ve been trying to figure out the same thing. They have confirmed via Twitter that the default length for each season will be 7 days, so if you leave everything as is you’ll be spending 1 season with each family before moving on. (Most likely this is what I will be doing; I view my entire save as one town so it makes sense for me to spend spring with one house, summer with the next.)
If you want to, you could adjust to playing 4 week increments so you are going through an entire year cycle. Trying to make seasons shorter to fit in a week probably wouldn’t work as well; you probably wouldn’t be in each season long enough to enjoy any of them.
