The laundry I don't mind, but the vacuuming turned into a repetitive nightmare. It seemed like that's all my sims ever did. I finally turned it off. Maybe whatever bug made my plants die instantly after sprouting was turbocharging the dust accumulation. I was growing dust not plants.
