How To Find Your Favorite Sim in Tray

I keep all of my old saves, but really wanting to bring my favorite silly artistic Sim into my new one with Seasons. Anybody have an idea how to find him in 5-8 files in my old tray folder. I guessing not, but worth the ask. He is my profile pic. I love that little guy.

you can't just swap tray folders and pick him out?
if not (i don't understand why not though) then maybe the tray importer would help.

I have made a bunch of Sims. I just want the find that one little guy again. Didn’t know if there was a code trick I’m not aware of.

Nope, there's no sort of trick to it. The library does have a search bar though so it shouldn't be difficult to find him.

@Cupid That would probably work. I could move the files out of tray folder on my PC temporarily and replace them with the try folder from my laptop, save my sim and house to my library, then delete that tray folder and replace it with the original one from my PC. That would probably be the least confusing way to do it. Thanks!

You can't save it to your library, because then it'd be removed when you replace the tray again. You'd need to add them to the game, save it, and then swap the folders back. Then you can go and save the sim or the house to your library.

Okay, I thought my Library must have been linked to the Tray folder since there wasn't a Library folder. I'm too tired to think straight right now, but if I'm understanding correctly, my saved games are separate from the Tray Folder? So removing the Tray folder won't affect my saved games, correct? If that's the case, then that would be easy enough to do. I'll have to wait until morning though to try it. Thanks for your help!

I recently had issues with my computer. In between it sporadically shutting on & off, I uploaded both my saves and my tray to OneDrive. I then downloaded those to my son's computer and was able to continue playing my legacy family. I also saved a number of my fav households and lots to the gallery, just in case I needed them.

I think you can use tray importer for this. It's not a mod and one of my favourite tools out there for the game.

Also when you go to your library choose advanced and click the choice to allow custom or something like that. It's been a while since I started a fresh game where I used tray items.

@drakharis Thank you soooo much! I have Tray Importer and didn’t even think of it. I just reimported all my tray items from an old pre-C&D pack and found the little guy. Adding him back to my new save now. You have made me a happy dude! I’ve been missing some of my old sims and also learned a few new tricks with Tray Importer!
