Simple. If children asks for advice, don't worry about manners and responsibility. It's easy to gain back. Emotional control is also easy with journals and new interactions to lower negative emotions. Empathy can be increased with doctor playset, volunteering, and by having the child talk about emotions and comfort sims with negative emotions. Conflict resolution is easy in toddlerhood and childhood.
Tips on getting negative traits.
Manners can be lowered by shouting forbitten words, farting, and belching.
Resposibility can be lowered by having bad grades, breaking curfew and grounding, and quitting and getting fired from part-time jobs.
Emotional control can be lowered with yelling, crying (self-interaction), throwing tantrums, and showing sims.
Conflict resolution can be lowered with arguing, fighting, and making enemies.
Empathy can be lowered with insults, making fun of negative emotions, and hitting stuffed animals.
I think Empathy is the hardest one to increase... I'm experiencing now. LOL
I find the most effective way to increase empathy, apart from chance cards, is to ensure the child has no toys but the doctor playset. You can also have them choose the "discuss mood" interaction on sims in a negative moodlet.
As a side note, if they do play with the doctor playset a lot as a kid, and then you have them actually become a doctor, they get a bonus moodlet for following their childhood dreams. I only saw it once, so I don't remember specifics. Just something fun I noticed.
