How to move EA folder from My documents to another Hard Drive?

Does anyone tech savy know how to move the EA folder from your C drive (my documents) to another Harddrive?
I would like to move my Sims 4 to my new hard drive.

I looked everywhere online for a solution and no luck.

Note* I just want to move the EA folder not My Documents Location.

Also can you CUT & move the folder to the new HD? or will that mess up your saves/mods folder?
any help would be much appreciated.

  • It looks like the sims4, like many other games saves your user files in your user profile directory. So you cannot move the folder without changing where windows will store your user files: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Can-I-change-the-directory-for-the-save-files-of-games/td-p/4027118
You can change that in your windows settings but when I did that on my previous computer I thought it was too confusing where my files ended up.
If you want to move where the game itself is located, then you just need to reinstall it through origin.
  • You should just be able to save your whole Sims folder to an external drive then place the files into your new my documents file when you get your game reinstalled. Pretty sure you'll have to reinstall the game first though becaues like @logion says, it causes problems when you try to move the whole game. I don't know why because I'm not a computer programmer or anything. I just know the trial and error stuff.
