How to place ponds on home lots?

Hi. I used to have all this written down but after the fire...well, that's gone. I can't remember what all you have to do to place a pond on your home lot. Thanks so much in advance.

  • Are you talking about a fishing pond, or just a pond? I took notes from the player who posted how to create fishing ponds. Here it is:

    1. Open Cheat Window
    2. Enter 'bb.movesobject on' and 'bb.showhiddenobjects
    3. Start with creating a pool with irregular shape
    4. Change pool edge to one that's having a natural color like brown
    5. Add matching terrain paint around pool to give a natural look
    6. Change walls and floors to ones with stones. ('My floor is from debug.')
    7. Add pool items like ladders or diving boards. Adding bubbles and fog emitters creates a nice mist above the pool and bubbles inside
    8. Add plants and rocks around pool to cover up some edges. Debug has some nice items, like logs and create new shrubs by using basement space
    9. Play test to see if everything works
    10. Add more greenery
    11. Adding fishing signs will spawn fish. Keep switching to play mode, if you build a smaller pond or else the fish will jump out of the ground.

Hope this will do it for you. Glad you survived the fire. Wow. Take care!

Thank you so much! I absolutely love having fishing ponds on my lot. Just couldn't remember for the life of me how to do it. LOL
  • If memory serves me correctly, there are also fishing ponds in the debug menu. You can get them by typing bb.showhiddenobjects, then typing debug in the search bar. If that doesn't work, you may also need bb.showliveeditobjects.
  • can you show me exactly what i type in the command bar I would also like a fishing pond, I know how to turn on moveobects command, but i cant seem to get the showhidden objects and debug to work says command failed so if you could show me how it should look in the command bar. Thank you

Ctrl+shift+c to open the command bar in the top left screen. In that command bar type bb.showhiddenobjects (just like that no spaces).

Next go to the object search box for the build buy catalog:

    In that box type debug

Then scroll, through slowly. Most stuff is only titled debug so you can’t really name search it. I think the fishing ponds are named but i’m not 100% sure. I added a picture and circled the ponds in red. They’re easy to miss because they look like non descriptive rings on a white background.

Don’t forget to place your brown fishing sign along one part of the edge, enjoy! ?
  • looking at your picture I see 14 signs. Useless duplication or do they control what fish types are there?

    Probably the latter.

This is good to know though. I wonder if this can be moved off a lot then using T.O.O.L.?
