How will you use the new roommate system?

I haven't tried this yet in Sims 4, but in Sims 3 what I did with the roommate system was I had my sim ask her boyfriend to be her roommate. What this did was he was there contributing to the household expence, but I didn't have to controle and play him.

I loved Sims 2 apartments and desperately miss them.
I am going to have an apartment style home. And give each apartment to different roommates (assign beds/may be change settings on doors). So i will have something similar to Sims 2 apartments.

I haven’t tried the roommates system yet. Is there a way to pick your roommates, or throw Sims into the roommate pool? It’d be cool to have a bunch of siblings live together that just graduated Uni but I don’t necessarily want to play them all.

I have heard you can only do this with a mod. Otherwise the game will spawn new roommates

Didn't they say you could ask a sim to be your roommate? I haven't tried it yet.

I think my single Sims might have a roommate or two to help pay the bills (I'm assuming roommates contribute towards to the household bills/rent?) until they're ready to settle down.

I haven't gotten it yet. Waiting to see if it goes on sale for the holidays.

I will use it to build functioning apartments.

I'm thinking of building some rowhouses once i get my hands on the pack

I want Erwin Pries to move with the Eclectic Arts peeps and still man his curio shop.

I don't have the expansion installed, but I plan on using the room mate system to help with household expenses.
