I also play rotationally with aging off. I would guess that the teens not being played would just go to the rabbithole school, or really do nothing while not playing them - what I mean by that is that when I am not playing a family and then come back to it, nothing has changed with their grades or anything. I do not think they will graduate, fall behind, or get ahead unless you are playing them.
