Hybrid Vampire and Magician: is there a cheat to make Sim sun resistant without seeing the vampire p

I seem to have ended up with a hybrid Sim who is the product of magician Sims that woohooed on a vampire ley line. They always presented as showing the magician trait, and now that I've grown them to teen they have the magician perks panel. However their need is for a vampire's needs so they also now can burn up in the Sun and I have zero access to the vampire perk panel to change that. They also do not have a vampire form in CAS. They have the options to do both magical and vampire actions, but again the needs panel is all vampire related, where is the perks panel is all magically related.

I tend to rotate houses and it is problematic having a Sim that can burn up in the sun given how long can be before I play a household again. I'm just wondering if there's a cheat to assign that particular vampire perk of being Sun resistant, so I can go ahead and keep playing with the SIM as a hybrid. The only cheats I have seen involve unlocking the powers to choose, but since I can't see the panel, I can't actually pick them.

I'm not sure if I can cure my vampire as they're not showing the vampire trait technically? Or if I can cue the magically and then the vampire panel will appear? Anyone else have information on hybrids?

  • @danceswithchaos I don't know the answer to your question as I don't have the vampire pack. I'm just here to say I love your profile picture, hilarious facial expressions :D

Given I've never played with hybrids (in any long-term capacity), I can't tell you how it'll all work. The link above should help with the necessary cheats, however.

Little Ms Sam has a vampire mod with sun resistance. It may work with your hybrid.
  • @KyreRoen With all of my magical and vampire crossbreeding, this is the first time an actual hybrid has happened! Previously, they were one or the other.

@mightysprite Isn't that facial expression hilarious? It was one of those things where my sim was just lazing around because I wasn't telling them to do anything, and I happened to catch it.

@Arzekial Do you happen to know where I can find that mod, as typically I have a completely modless game?

@kalaksed I found that cheat and tried it, only it seems to only unlock the perk, not actually give it to the Sim. Since I can't see the control panel to choose it, I don't think they're actually getting that ability. It's also possible I didn't type in, and I tried it using the SIM code.

She has a listing with all her mods. Just google "Little Ms Sam Vampire Powers". It will be the first link.

  • @danceswithchaos I might be able to help. I play with vampire-spellcaster hybrids (created on purpose).

Here's what you need to know:

The vampire and spellcaster states are both from hidden traits that you can add or remove using cheats. You have to enter the "testingcheats on" cheat before using any of these. I recommend backing up your game and/or saving your sim to your library first, just in case.

    For vampires:
    traits.equip_trait trait_OccultVampire
    traits.remove_trait trait_OccultVampire

    For spellcasters:
    traits.equip_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult
    traits.remove_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult

What you do depends on what you want.

Option 1) If you want your sim to just be a spellcaster and not be a vampire, you should be able to remove the vampire trait using the "Remove" cheat for vampires.

Option 2) If you want to keep the hybrid, but give your sim the sun resistance perk, you'll need to temporarily remove the spellcaster trait using the "remove" cheat for "WitchOccult". This will make your sim be just a vampire, and you will be able to access the vampire perks panel. Make whatever changes you want there. When you are done, use the "equip" cheat for "WitchOccult" to make the sim back into a vampire-spellcaster hybrid. You should not lose any spellcaster progress. All learned spells, levels, and perks will still be there.

Caveat: Since I have only done this from the direction of creating a hybrid on purpose (starting with a vampire that I added the spellcaster trait to) I am not 100% certain that "natural" hybrids born in game work the same way. I've heard they can be glitchy. Which is why I recommend making a backup first before trying it out. But these cheats do work for me when doing what I do. And progress for spellcasters is not lost when I remove the trait and then re-equip it.
  • OOH. Vampire/witch hybrids are so much fun to play! I have a few, one that was born accidentally in my game (she's a glitch), Joanna Morecombe, that I've played since Realm of Magic came out.
I use this website to add powers. Its also a great resource for other cheat codes for vampires. : https://sims-online.com/sims-4-vampires-cheats-powers-skills/

Follow the directions on the website, which are fairly easy to follow. Or here's a video I made you can follow for that specific cheat (I made this for my Halloween Sim series) Just fast forward to the 7:31 minute mark for directions
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ6lSiM-2Wc

You can use this same cheat to unlock OTHER powers for your hybrid. I made Joanna sunproof, but she can also control others, create other vamipres, fly as bat, open/lock doors, speed run, etc.
Alternately, while you are playing your plasma sucking witch in LIVE mode
    Open your dialog box
    Type in
    testingcheats true
    Then
    traits.remove_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult

That will turn your sims back into a full blooded vampire. You can build up their vampire skill tree up until they are sun proof.
Then in the dialog box, Type
    traits.equip_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult

That will turn them back into a hybrid. I've found that vampire/witch hybrids are fairly stable to play. You can access the spellcaster skill tree just like any other witch/wizard. The only thing that doesn't pop up is the magical charge. Once your hybrid gets charged (they'll get a moodlet and sparks will run across them), lay off casting magic for a bit, or have them discharge that extra magic. Otherwise they might blow up lol.
