I can’t name my household

I’m re-creating a household from The Sims 1, called the “Hick Family” to fit in The Sims 3 timeline.

The game recognizes the word “Hick” as a disallowed word. Is this for real? It’s not even censored in the forums.

Have you encountered a word that isn’t allowed to be uploaded in the gallery that obviously isn’t a “disallowed” word? Share your story. :)

    I had the same problem when recreating the Hicks. Annoying because they were my favourites in TS1. Also makes it hard to find in the gallery.

    When The Sims came out we didn't have any disallowed names as far as I can recall but according to the Urban dictionary a hick is....

    "a person who lives in the country, regarded as being unintelligent or parochial"

    And that is what I regarded them as when I played it as their house in The Sims was made to look like the name. :)
    We didn't mind such things then but do we still use the term or is it out of date?

    There is a maxis premade on the gallery with the name Miss Hell... If you bring her in CAS and exit the game tells you that you will not be able to upload her on the gallery because her name contains a disallowed word... Considering that she comes from the gallery and from maxis to begin with.......

    I'm just stubborn enough I would save it anyway. Some of the words they mark as censored are ridiculous.

    I went to save a lot to my library - not the gallery - and I made a note in the description that it needs to be completed once I got the relevant DLC, and it said it contained a banned word, which I believe was "DLC", which is a weird word to ban. It didn't matter since I wasn't sharing it, but it's still strange that they would find "DLC" to be a word that needs to banned
