@foxybilly, You don’t need books to level up as a Spellcaster. Like others mentioned in this thread, you can go to the magic realm and keep it all practical. Leveling up goes pretty fast if you take the effort to interact with other spellcasters or practice yourself. Boost your relationship with the Mages and they’re much more keen to share their knowledge with your sim. Or get yourself a cauldron and start experimenting.

If that’s too much work, there are console cheats (no mods needed) that you can use to get your sim to the level you want them to be. Below is a link with those specific cheats:
