I can't find the option for "Read to child" anywhere?

So I'm trying to play a sim that has the big happy family aspiration, and they have to read to a child for 2hrs, but every time I try to grab a book from the bookshelf for them, I don't see any option...

Yeah, book has to be in your sim's inventory. Which is not intuitive at all.
