If I've raised a Sim from childhood, they grow up with the 'responsible' trait and never have to do 'homework' for their jobs. (Or, usually not - sometimes, they have an assignment when they first start a career.) I don't like managing more than two Sims at a time, so I'd rather have one of the parents going off to the rabbit hole when I keep a couple together.
I think that where I will really use this is with my elders. They have usually completed all the aspirations I care to play, and have maxed out most of the their skills. My current elder (and mother of a teenager) spends her days painting, and it's getting rather boring. Her ancestors already painted masterpieces of all the paintings I want for the house (the cute cat picture and grilled cheese picture) and they have over 5M in the family bank. I don't want her to get a job because I want her to be home to help her teenage daughter with her school projects and homework. A freelance job would be perfect. (Sadly, Holly won't live to see the patch :'( .)
