The main reason I would like seasons is because it is realistic. Right now with zero weather there is no real definition between indoor and outdoor spaces. I could literally park my Sims on a lot and stick some furniture on it and they'd be happy just the same. No walls? No roof? No problem! LOL.
I am spoiled from having all the cool stuff in Sims 3 and I want it back.
I want that penguin to come waddling through the neighborhood, & I want snowmen and lightning strikes and autumn foliage.
Seasonal outfits would actually make sense. Putting my Sims in Christmas sweaters and boots makes little sense when it's full bore sunny every single day.
