Seasons (like Pets) has always been my favorite EP in the series. Without weather and seasons, one day in the game feels much like any other. I need Seasons to give my stories a sense of time and place.
Yet, even more important than the above, Seasons is about the accompanying activities. TS4 is still so lacking in things for Sims to do. My hope is that a Seasons EP will force the EP team to finally step up their game and deliver an EP that finally feels like an EP -- chock full of fun activities along with the weather.
When you think about it, Seasons can also breathe new life in older packs. With an actual Summer with warm temperatures, Sims can cool down with the water slide and drink pitcher from Backyard Stuff or have some ice cream from the Ice Cream Maker from Cool Kitchen Stuff. Rainy or snowy out? Settle in for movies and popcorn (Movie Hangout Stuff) or go bowling (Bowling Night). Warm spring nights could mean a pool and hot tub party (Perfect Patio), and with a proper autumn you can break out all the Halloween decor (Spooky Stuff) supplemented by whatever comes in the Seasons pack.
Ideally, different worlds will have different weather; maybe you leave Windenburg where it's snowing and travel to Oasis Springs where it's raining, then maybe over to Newcrest where there's fog on the river then up to Brindleton Bay where it's also snowing.
