I enjoy Sims 4

It sometimes feels so isolating on this site to love this game but I love it. Compared to other iterations, I've felt like with this one, I can create the stories I want best and it's one of my biggest creative outlets. These forums sometimes get me down though because it feels like I'm being made out to be a shill for EA if I don't see an issue with something or I enjoy a particular feature or pack others don't like or I must only enjoy the game because I must be a new player who hasn't played other Sims games

  • I enjoy it too. I haven’t played for ages because I’ve been playing quizzes on Sporcle.com every evening but I am going to get back into it.
  • I've enjoyed all of the Sims games, even S3 with its routing problems and pudding faces. I think this one has been the most fun to play live, as opposed to building things or making content.

And add me to the MFP fans! I love the content that came with the pack - I always need more stuff for my kids, and the furniture is darling.

I also love Sims 4, it's a greater iteration than 3 imo which triggers a lot of TS3 fans. Don't let the negative people get to you, it's perfectly okay to enjoy TS4 even with it's flaws.

this isn't directed at you, lol. but just so everyone knows, cause i see the complaint about sims 4 being "overpriced" a lot:

at retail price at release for all sims franchise expansions. these do not include sales or the price they are now:

sims 1: sold at $30 usd at the time of release.
sims 2: sold at $40 usd at the time of release.
sims 3: sold at $40 usd at the time of release.
sims 4: sold at $40 usd at the time of release.

okay, so they're all pretty much $40 right?

    nope.

sims 1 expansions is now considered around $41.00 with inflation.
sims 2 expansions are around $47.00 with inflation.
sims 3 is around $44.00 with inflation. all these are 2019 dollars.

    so.

sims 4 is cheaper than 2&3 and around the same price as the sims 1 expansions.

    B)

edit: i'm going by years of the LAST expansion released for the games. so 2003 for sims 1. 2008 for sims 2. 2013 for sims 3.

Wow, I thought I paid $20 for the Sims. loool It was the best $30 I ever spent. Ah, the memories!

tbh, you probably did. games go on sale a lot a lot of people remember paying in that range but retail price was $30.00 :)

You may be right. I just remember stumbling upon a cardboard cut out display for the game, not knowing what it was. Read the back, it reminded me of a virtual Barbie house. So I picked it up. Never looked back. lol

One thing that I love with the Sims 4 (and all the games) is that even years after it's launch, I'm still discovering small things included either in the base or with all the DLC.

The other day I found out that when a sim washes clothing in the washer using flowers as a laundry additive, there is an option to sniff clean clothing that the sim is wearing. I think that's so cool! Or the pee in pool option. I haven't done it but read about it on the forums. Never knew. So there are so many tiny surprises to have.
  • I think Sims 4 is a great game. Its not the same as The Sims 1-3, but its still a great game. I think I like it more because It's different from the others. When it all comes down to it, each version had something about it that was special and not repeated by any of its counter-parts.

When playing the others I ALWAYS miss: Multitasking, Drag-and-Drop building, Push-and-Pull CASing, Having actual, unique objectives for toddlers and children to complete that are unique to their life-stage, the quirky, somewhat cartoony look and feel of the world.

I agree with this 100%. I like to be creative with my stories and Sims 4 is the best for me for this. I really enjoy this game. But then again, I also really really love my first pet stuff pack LOL! So I guess I'm really unpopular haha

Don't feel alone. I really like it, too. :)

    Me three. LOL.

Just adding my voice to the love for the My First Pet pack. They're adorable and lots of my Sims kids have them.

Yeah, I haven't visited all hidden lots. Not even all lots yet.
  • I love this game too, overall. There are of course things here and there which annoy me, and some things I wish were made differently, etc., but that's nitpicking. I suck it up and enjoy what's enjoyable. :)
