The live chat guy spent a long time trying to figure out my issue! We ran a tracer to figure out if my location was messed up, which it wasn't - I had a screencap of my receipt and it showed the price in displayed in USD, and the charge displayed in EUR. I don't know much about VPNs but if I had used one, wouldn't it have shown the price/charge as the same currency? I mean, if I was tricking Origin into thinking I was in Europe or whatever, it would have shown the price in Euros. Surely?
I signed up to EA/Origin 9 years ago, then I did move to the USA from England 7.5 years ago, but I have bought all the Sims 4 games and packs so far with no issues (including Laundry Day 2 weeks ago in dollars), but maybe my location settings goofed up this one time. But if it had, the price would have been reflected in pounds sterling, not Euros, surely?! So I still don't know lol.
I did eventually get refunded and then re-purchased the pack. Not ideal as now I've paid twice and the refund will take a couple of days (of course most places can take your money faster than they can give it back lol). He did set me up with 2-factor verification, which records my location for each log-in and lets me view it (maybe they still think I'm using a VPN lol... but why on earth would I?!)
