I always do a Save As whenever I begin a gaming session. This allows for me to do a rollback, or even a game save recovery, if need be. So glad I have a back-up of my Main Save, though.
@wahini2024 did you play the saves that got infected, or were they just in your Sims4 folder?
My saves were doing okay across the board after the hot fix patch came through. When I started a new save, however, for a single sim challenge every save load was infected by the groundhog day bug. All of them. I couldn't even travel without it resetting back in time.
I uninstalled the game and my only real option at this point is to delete my save loads, disable the hsy expansion and rebuild. It's just that messy. It doesn't even guarantee that the groundhog day bug will be gone but I've read that most who disabled the pack no longer had this issue. Fingers crossed. I do have my files saved should I ever be able to restore hsy once the big is fixed.. if it gets fixed anytime soon.
So, far, I'm happy to say, my new game save is doing okay. Now, I have taken to doing the Save As for each save, particularly when it was something I didn't wish to lose. I shut down my game and powered up again moments later just to be certain everything was how I had left it. If it isn't that way today when I power back up, I will report it here. I have made certain that the only groundhog thing I noticed is avoided, by keeping Erik's needs up while he writes his songs. He's got four written, thus far. Since this is a flashback of his high school years, he needs to win his first four Accolades to sync properly with the Main Save posts I've made. He's received his first nomination. so, we'll see what happens.
I haven't had a single issue since I deleted every save, uninstalled the game and disabled HSY after downloading. I hate that I had to even disable it but it made my game useless. I'm rebuilding and just had to let my previous sims go, sadly. If it were Erik though, and how much time you've put into that family, I would be devastated. I play in rotation so my attachment was to all of my sims at various degrees but it did in some way make it a tad easier to blow it up and start over when every family was so badly broken. I couldn't go backwards 3 or 4 sim days for 30 plus sim families every time I would load or even travel. Fingers crossed for you!
I am so very sorry to hear of your gaming woes. Yeah, I still haven't opened my Main Save, which is where I left Erik, Kayleigh and their six rambunctious kids. He's up for his twenty-first Accolade, too. It's hard to say goodbye to our little Simmies. It's very much like having your dog eat your favorite book.
