I hate that we can't just make university students like in Sims 2.

For me it was the perfect way to start with a new neighbourhood in Sims 2: Make young adults to go through university where they make friends, learn skills and get a degree, and then move them into the neighbourhood with established backstory as they start on their careers and raise families.

I hate that there's all these hoops to jump through in sims 3 and 4. No, I do not want to make a bunch of university students, stick them in a home and make them work and earn skills for weeks before they can finally enroll properly into university.

Thank you again @babajayne! I was under the impression you could only one enrolled at a time, otherwise they would do poorly in their classes. I am definitely going to have to try this now, as I love the idea of that challenge! @elanorbreton Yes the chaos is what makes it so much fun and a challenge! I have some teens in mind for when I am able to get back to my game, that will be going to university!

I wish University in Sims 4 allowed us to play a household of up to 8, even in the dorms like in Sims 2. I loved playing University and found it challenging playing more than one sim at a time. I was so excited when Sims 4 came out with University pack and was looking forward to it, until I realized you can only play one sims at a time. That was, and still is, very disappointing for me, as I loved sending a group of friends to college and letting them enjoy the experience together. It was where my singles often met the love their life, and they were all able to study together and help each other out. I really miss that in 4. I really want to be able to switch from sim to another in the group to help get them through college and be able to graduate together. I probably need to try it again, as I haven't played the university since my first try, but I will always be missing the Sims 2 version.

You can only enroll one sim at a time, but you can absolutely add up to 8 sims to a dorm. I make sure they’re all ready to go and keep exiting the dorm lot to add more until they’re all moved in. When you pick uni housing, you will see who is already living in a dorm.

You can have sims attend university from their home lot. So I think it should be possible to move all 8 sims into a house on campus and have everyone attend university if that is your wish. You can pretend their house is a dorm and hire a butler to take care of housekeeping.
  • You are guaranteed university admission. The skills etc are just if you want to gain admission to a distinguished degree.

    Yes, that’s totally possible, too.

Thank you @babajayne and @ crocobaura for your answers. The part that I guess I am missing in Sims 4 University is the ability to play all 8 as household while having all 8 attending/enrolled in college, like I did in Sims 2. I have thought of trying a smaller group in a house and sending/enrolling one sim at a time, say one sim a week and then continue to alternate until the whole group is done. But they wouldn't graduate together. I loved playing the college group of friends all together going through the courses and completing them in Sims 2. I know I would be able to play them as a household, in a house, but I was looking forward to playing the entire group attending and going through college at the same time, like in Sims 2. I had read that if you enroll students and don't play them through they often don't do very well on their own. I don't use mods, but definitely plan to once Sims 4 ends. I am one of the micromanagers with my Sims, I admit. I want to be there with them through their trials and tribulations of college! LOL I still plan to send my YA to college, one at a time, unless I can make myself let some of their friends go on their own. On the bright side though, it would give them the opportunity to meet and get to know new Sims. But I will still miss the old Sims 2 way. Guess when I really miss it I can always go start a Sims 2 game. :) I love all my sim games, including Sims 4. Some things stick with you from the past games when playing new, and you need to learn to play without them. I still enjoy my Sims 4, there are just certain things I miss. When I play the previous games, there are things I really love in 4 that I miss in the older ones. Just need to learn to accept the differences in each and just enjoy each game with what they offer. But it doesn't mean I still don't miss those particular features. I need to learn to micromanage less!
